The Altailes Forest Holding Company was founded in 2007 and comprises 17 companies with a total of 3,700 employees. The company leased more than 1,434,000 hectares of forest from the Russian Federation and invested more than 10 billion rubles in new high-tech industries. Today, Altailes is one of the largest and fastest growing forest industry companies in Russia.

In 2017 the construction of a new plant in Pavlovsky started about 6.000 km away from HOLTEC near Barnaul/Novosibirsk. This plant for the production of MDF boards is designed for an annual capacity of more than 250,000 m³ boards and provides jobs for 200 highly qualified specialists.

HOLTEC supplied the complete front end including chip handling up to the silos. The core machines were a 2-section Vario-Barker from HOLTEC and a disc chipper HOLTEC-NYBLAD with 2,800 mm disc diameters and 800 kW drive power.

At the beginning of April the first 16 mm thick medium density fibre board was produced. The raw materials for these boards are residuals from forestry: sawdust, wood chips, bark, chipping residuals as well as low-quality wood. With the commissioning of Pavlovsky plant, Altailes group is able to set up a production cycle with nearly no waste. In accordance with environmental protection requirements the system is operated with self-provided electricity and heat.

The plant was officially opened at the end of June. Meanwhile it has fully started production. HOLTEC is proud to have been part of such a giant project.
