Holtec strengthens its position in log handling through innovative projects and solutions

Holzkurier reported that, over recent decades, Holtec has developed from a family‑owned specialist in log handling into a leading supplier to the wood industry. The company offers a broad range of systems – from classic log yards through to complex, high‑performance sorting and infeed systems for large industrial plants.

Despite challenges such as the COVID‑19 pandemic and the flood event of 2021, Holtec looks back on a successful financial year and was able to further expand its market position, particularly in Central Europe, through numerous large‑scale projects. Examples include installations for well‑known sawmill operators in Germany and Austria, as well as innovative log yard concepts with reduced space requirements and lower emissions.

In addition to the sawmill industry, the wood‑based materials and pellet industries are also gaining increasing importance. In these segments, Holtec implements complete wood yard solutions including debarking, chipping technology and material logistics. At the same time, digital solutions, remote maintenance and new service offerings are driving the further development of the systems.

Another key focus is workplace ergonomics, for example through new operating concepts such as “Ergo‑Control”, which improve working conditions and contribute to securing skilled workers. The portfolio is complemented by the globally established package cross‑cut saw technology, with which Holtec has held a leading position for decades.

Overall, the report shows that Holtec continues to strengthen its role as an innovative full‑range supplier and actively shapes the development of the wood industry with technological solutions and comprehensive projects.
