Ergo-Control – Workplace ergonomics rethought

Despite all technological advances in the wood and sawmill industry, one thing remains unchanged: people are at the centre of it all. A modern sawmill can only achieve lasting success if the working conditions for operators are optimally designed. With its pioneering Ergo-Control operator station, HOLTEC is setting new standards in ergonomics, health, and workplace quality.

The aim of the development was to create a flexible sit-stand workstation that allows variable working positions while ensuring identical lines of sight in both. This guarantees that operators always have a full overview of all controls, monitors and wood flow – regardless of the working position they choose.

Thanks to its modular design, Ergo-Control can be precisely adapted to each customer’s individual requirements. Equipment, control concepts and additional modules can be configured freely and expanded at any time. As a result, HOLTEC not only provides state-of-the-art technology but also a future-proof platform that evolves in line with production demands.

The first installations took place as early as 2020 – the prototype was successfully commissioned at Gebrüder Eigelshoven. This was followed by further implementations at Schwaiger Holzindustrie, Pfeifer, Rettenmeier, Binder, and many others. Based on customer feedback, the concept has been continuously refined. Today, more than 20 Ergo-Control operator stations are successfully in use at various sites, making a tangible contribution to health prevention and employee satisfaction
